How much do you make?

How Much Will You Earn If You Want To Become A Personal Trainer?

They said that if you want to become rich, one of the best jobs in our current environment is to become a Personal Trainer. How much does a personal trainer really earn every month? Do they get additional income outside of the gyms where they are working? Do they get tips? This article will answer some of the burning question that you have about a personal trainer's earnings.

The average salary of every personal trainer is about $34,000 to $48,000 every year but some of the personal trainer can get higher than, about $60,000 depending on the skill and experience. And if you have your own gym and have gone into the personal training business, you can earn as much as $120,000 a year. If you also sell some of the complimentary products and services in your gym, you can get as much as $150,000 annually. They sometimes also get tips and gifts from their clients.

Are you amazed at these figures? With those kind of earnings and the flexible hours that you have, most will probably be thinking of switching careers. The money will certainly be enough for a comfortable life.

But don't get too excited though. Before you can become a personal trainer, you must answer these questions first. Are you fit for the job? Are you a college graduate? What course did you take? Is there any relation to the field of personal training and fitness programs? Are you a physical therapist or a graduate of any health and fitness course in your region? If you are, then well and good. Don't be discouraged if you do not have the experience. Actually most of the personal trainers today, they do their job from experience. They become first apprentices or assistant personal trainers. They may not be graduates of any fitness course but they have taken courses and trainings after. Study first and earn some certification. After doing this, you can apprentice or work in a personal training facility or a fitness club. Start small.

One tip from some of the most successful personal trainers is this: do your job well and the rest will follow. Your fee will increase as you build your clientele. The more busy you are, the higher you can charge. More demand, higher price right. Another option is to specialize in something. That way, you will be the go-to guy when it comes to a particular field. An example is a personal trainer for the World Boxing Organization or Intercontinental Boxing Federation. When there is a scheduled fight, you will be the one to train their boxers.

One famous name for these is Buboy Fernandez, the personal trainer of Pound for Pound King Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.  Another example are the trainers of the basketball teams in the NBA.  They applied for the job but because of their previous experiences. And when their team wins the championships, their price can get even higher.

But in other cases, some say that independent personal trainers can earn more than the company hired personal trainers because the latter's salary is fixed. So, if you are good enough to strike it on your own, try your luck in becoming an independent personal trainer. You can earn more money that way. You can also make sure that you have a more flexible schedule.

No Time For Gym Training, Personal Trainer Will Go To Your House

There are lots of individuals who will want to do their exercises but just don't have the time to do it because of their work schedules. Some even have gym schedules but they don't use it because they can't fit it into their schedules. Once a week is already a problem to then, what more a schedule of about twice or trice a week to trim down their tummies and develop six packs. But if you have the money to spare, you can actually get these services at home. There are personal trainers that you can hire to go to your home and help you with your routine. They will charge extra of course.

To tell you frankly, most of the personal trainers hired in the fitness gyms can go also to your house.  Some of them do their services outside the gym and they do this as their part-time jobs. When this is the case, they can charge you a smaller fee than what the gym charges. This is if you have your own equipment at home. If however you will be using his or her equipment, they may charge a rate comparable to that of the gym or even higher because they will be bringing the equipment to you. You can even ask personal trainers to go sometime to the fitness gym or call them with their numbers in the directory. You can also find names at various website. Just type on search engines “Wanted Personal Trainer” or “Home Service Personal Trainer” or even “Personal Trainer”

But looking for candidates is different from actually hiring one. When choosing a personal trainer for your home fitness training, here are some of the things that you need to remember:

(1) Ask his/her about his educational background. Is he/she a graduate of a physical training course or a physical therapy degree;

(2) Ask for a certification or training certificate in fitness training and personal training. If he can't provide that, make sure that he/she has extensive experience and a wide background on physical training;

(3) Are you gender conscious? Some women clients prefer to hire female personal trainers rather than male ones because of awkward moments;

(4) Are you looking for someone who is really good at his job, the best in the industry? If you do not have the money to spare, better stick to those who are not what they call “stars” in the field. These people can be expensive as they are probably servicing Hollywood stars. Even those without the star material can do if they have extensive experience.

(5) Don't hesitate to ask how much per hour they are charging for their service;

(6) Also without hesitation, you should ask if there is any discount when you do the training in your house during off-peak hours as opposed to doing it when everybody is also doing it;

(7) If you have the guts, you can also ask if you can receive a discount when you train with a group of people. Can the personal trainer give a wholesale price for all the members of the group;

(8) You can also ask the personal trainer would want to barter for the service. Say for instance, an old car for several sessions of fitness training.
